One of 22 views of Warsaw painted by Bellotto for the Senators’ Antechamber (known as the Canaletto Room) at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The painting is listed in the catalogue of the Stanisław August collection of 1795 under no. 439: “Vue de la rue des Capucins, prise de la rue des Sénateurs". The wall at the junction of Senatorska and Miodowa (also known as Kapucyńska) streets has a plaque with the inscription ULICA/ SENATOR/SKA.
