On a navy blue background of the central field, along the axis, linked with one another: three radiant rhomboid forms with large S-shaped pendants on the sides, alternating with medallions with inscribed small rectangles, rosettes on two ends, hooked motifs and palmettes on the sides. Around this decoration numerous tiny motifs – a pair of animals, rosettes and rhombuses, combs. Along the field edge a band of small rhombuses, at the upper and lower edge also a row of rosettes. The niche with a pentagonal top enclosed flat is set off by a white band, not connected with the field edge, surrounded by a band of red-and-yellow strips, decorated with the motif of beams that are slanted, parallel to one another and arranged in the letter V. The mihrab top densely filled with a geometric motif reiterating the niche shape. In the spandrels symmetrically arranged two rhombuses surrounded by arrows. We warmly invite you to become more acquainted with full description of this rug published in “Prayer Rugs Collection catalogue" by Katarzyna Połujan (Teresa Sahakian Foundation, The Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum), Warsaw 2015.
