Church of the Bernardines and the Zygmunt III Column Viewed from a Street Leading to the River Vistula

This is the only painting now exhibited in the Canaletto Room which, in the 18th century, was not one of the series of views in the Senators’ Antechamber, where it was exhibited 1930–6. The painting is listed in the 1795 catalogue of the Stanisław August collection under no. 449: “Vue de Varsovie prise de l’appartement du Prélat Ghigiotti".
