The blue central field (with abrash) with set off stripes at the bottom and at the top – the individual parts surrounded by a red band of white dots. In the centre, outlined with a triangular band, a red mihrab with a stepped arch, surmounted by a turret with an arrow. Along the inner niche edge a row of flowers on slanted stalks (two located at the very top, connected by a small triangle, make up a kind of lamps hung from the niche vault). Above the arch there are tiny floral and geometrical ornaments. In the lower and upper stripe the crenellation motif – a row of stylised triangular arcades and arrows – at the bottom of the composition on a red, and at the top on a dark brown background. We warmly invite you to become more acquainted with full description of this rug published in “Prayer Rugs Collection catalogue" by Katarzyna Połujan (Teresa Sahakian Foundation, The Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum), Warsaw 2015.
