Catherine of Braganza [Catarina de Bragança] (1638–1705), daughter to King Jan IV of Portugal; married 1662 to King Charles II.

Pendant to the portrait of Charles II (ZKW/130/ab).
The portrait is a studio replica of an image painted by Peter Lely ca. 1668. The backrest of the armchair, with its shell-shaped finial and garlands of flowers, is an allusion to the myth of Venus.
